The firecrackers went fast this year...we expected it to last at least 20 minutes...results, less then 4 minutes. We had a dry evening and too much powder was used causing the first half of the string to burn up in first 10 seconds. This is the fastest we've ever gone through this string at New Years Eve. A spectator commented, "This is a sign that this year will go by fast."
The fireworks show was spectacular though. Enjoy it from this video.

The kickoff event for this year's Lion Dance performance started with the Microsoft CHIME Spring Festival. The video of this performance is at the end of this post...
This year, our role was to lead Steve Balmer, Microsoft CEO, onto the stage and dance with him on stage.
Steve's energy was amazing! We were all very excited to see him. Before the show, I got a chance to go over our routine with him and we took some pictures together.
While waiting to get on stage, Steve wanted to try on our Lion...He was having such a blast.
The crowd went wild when CHIME's VP announce Steve's appearance. On stage, Steve fed our lions with lucky red envelopes. In return, our Lions wished him and the 3000 attending audience Peace, Luck, and Prosperity in the year of the Cat (aka: Rabbit).
After the show, we snatched one last group picture with Steve
Overall, we had another amazing experience performing for MS CHIME's Spring Festival. See you guys again next year!
Lunar New Year is here in about two weeks. Feb. 3 to be exact...Let the fun begin!!! AAArrrrr!!!!!

Another amazing turn outs at the Wing Luke for this year's Lunar New Year performance at this museum. Our dancers had to work extra hard to get to the Li Xi this year. This builds suspensions and the audience cheered when our Lion finally was able to grab it...

Our team had a special invitation to perform for the New Day Northwest Show on King 5 TV. This is the first time we got invited to appear on a TV show - we made it on the King 5 News many times but appearing on a TV show is something else. We were quite nervous but excited about the opportunity. Our team leader (aka: Director, Cash Vo) and a senior dancer (Torrey Le) even get to say a few words about Lion Dancing. The experience was awesome!!! Here is the video reply of that live show on TV:
